PlayStation Plus - Your Monthly Games for April 2017

With only a few days left to cross off on March’s calendar, it’s time to pull back the curtain on what April has in store for PlayStation Plus.

Drawn to Death

Yes, earlier this month veteran game creator David Jaffe revealed the first of April’s PS Plus line-up when he confirmed the release date for his long-awaited arena shooter Drawn to Death.

A multiplayer-focused, online experience, Drawn to Death invites you to dive between the pages of a teenage tearaway’s high school text book and do bloody battle in a world constructed entirely of ballpoint doodles.

Brought to life with artistic panache and some truly bonkers character design, Drawn to Death is chaotic four-player fun with a huge emphasis on over-the-top weapons, dynamic environments and a fittingly adolescent attitude to violence – what better place to indulge your inner delinquent?

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

Second in our line-up for April is the brilliantly quirky co-operative space-shooter-cum-interstellar-explorer Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

Beam up a friend and blast off into the far reaches of a procedurally-generated universe where no two galaxies are alike and where teamwork is the only thing keeping your neon tub afloat.

While success might not demand the levels of intimacy implied by the title, you’ll definitely benefit from having someone you can trust on hand. Failing that, you can always boot up a friendly AI companion instead – to forage for new ship upgrades and abilities, explore distant galaxies and fend off attacks from technicoloured alien monstrosities.

In addition, PS4 users will also bag themselves some extra loot via the trans-dimensional technological wonder that is Cross-Buy: this month’s two charming PS Vita titles 10 Second Ninja X and Curses n’ Chaos can both be downloaded and played on PS4!

All of which leaves April’s full line up looking like this:

* Drawn to Death (PS4)

* 10 Second Ninja X (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)

* Curses ‘n Chaos (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)

* Alien Rage (PS3)

Xbox - April 2017 Games with Gold

After three months of some excellent offers through Games with Gold, featuring Layers of Fear, Evolve, and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, we’re keeping the proverbial train moving into April with four critically-acclaimed games — two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 games that can be played through Backward Compatibility — to add to your Xbox library.

The immersive action-adventure game Ryse: Son of Rome will be available April 1 – 30, followed by The Walking Dead: Season 2 from April 16 – May 15 that continues the tragic story of the young Clementine in the zombie apocalypse. Then on Xbox 360, and on Xbox One through Backward Compatibility, take on the role of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, in the classic action role-playing game Darksiders on April 1 – 15, followed by Assassin’s Creed Revelations from April 16 – 30 that concludes the epic adventure of our favorite assassin, Ezio Auditore.

All games will be available for a limited time only as part of Games with Gold, so get Xbox Live Gold today to get in on the action!

* Ryse: Son of Rome ($19.99 ERP): Available April 1-30 on Xbox One

* The Walking Dead: Season 2 ($24.99 ERP): Available April 16-May 15 on Xbox One

* Darksiders ($19.99 ERP): Available April 1-15 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One

* Assassin’s Creed Revelations ($19.99 ERP): Available April 16-30 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One

Lead your troops to victory and exact your revenge in Ryse: Son of Rome, an immersive action-adventure story of struggle, brutality, and heroism. Starting April 1, play as Roman soldier Marius Titus who aims to avenge the slaying of his family and fight to save the Roman Empire. This third-person hack-and-slash boasts fluid, combo-based combat with stunning graphics and environments.

Then on April 16, continue the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the zombie apocalypse, in The Walking Dead: Season Two, sequel to the Game of the Year winner. Your choices and actions impact the story as you are constantly tested to survive in a world gone mad. Meet other survivors, explore new locations, and make gruesome decisions in this excellent five-part series.

On Xbox 360, and Xbox One through Backward Compatibility, take up War’s sword and search for answers in Darksiders. Dishonored after the premature end of the world, War must return to post-apocalyptic Earth to seek out those responsible, fighting angel and demon alike who blame you for the devastation. In this action-RPG of epic proportions, you must gain power, seek upgrades, and wield a legendary arsenal to clear your name.

Finally, Ezio Auditore returns for one last adventure in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Following in the footsteps of the original game’s hero, Altair, Ezio seeks to uncover the secrets of the master assassin. Explore Constantinople, Cappadocia, and Masyaf, bringing the Renaissance assassin through the lands of the original master.
