PlayStation Plus - January 2018 Free Games Lineup

The PlayStation Plus monthly games for January!

First up, we have Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. This game mixes first-person action, stealth, and RPG-elements to make for an enthralling adventure.

Next, we have Batman: The Telltale Series. Take on the role of Batman, both as the hero and his alter ego [SPOILER] Bruce Wayne. Where every choice has a consequence, see what it really means to be the Dark Knight. Another hand-crafted adventure game by the fine folks at Telltale, it is sure to entertain.

This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes:

* The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, PS3

PS Plus: Free Games for August 2017

Greetings one and all and welcome to the red-hot reveal for the PlayStation Plus July line-up. We hope you’ve all had fun dodging saw blades, meat-hooks and the occasional backstabbing in this month’s macabre selection of titles? We’re happy to confirm we’ve got all manner of mayhem coming your way on 1st August. Without further ado, let’s take a peek.

- Just Cause 3

If last month’s slightly more slow-burning mood left you hankering for something a bit more bonkers then look no further. An over-the-top cavalcade of pure, destructive chaos, Just Cause 3 delivers an open-world third-person romp with all the catharsis and tongue-in-cheek dialogue of a classic ’80s action movie.

As Rico Rodriguez, it’ll be up to you to sire political change in your troubled homeland of Medici through a thoughtful application of rocket launchers, wingsuits, grappling hooks and high explosives. Revolution is never easy, but as the old saying goes: if at first you don’t succeed, tie two helicopter gunships together with a grappling hook, cover them in C4 and smash them into an oil refinery… (you can actually do this).

- Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry

If, on the other hand, you’re hankering after something a bit more stealthy – and have a soft spot for the high seas – then the mast-straddling, throat-slitting adventures of Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry could be just the very thing.

Set several decades after the piratical exploits of young Edward Kenway, this standalone expansion to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag places you into the boots of shipwrecked sailor and Brotherhood assassin Adéwalé as he goes head to head with a cadre of French slavers. Expect death-defying acrobatics, copious bloodletting and a few pesky Templars trying to do something dastardly.

As per usual, our PS4 games are joined by four other titles on PS Plus this August. Your full line up looks like this:

* Just Cause 3 (PS4)
* Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry (PS4)
* That’s You – PS4 (bonus title)
* Super Motherload (PS3)
* Snake Ball (PS3)
* Downwell (PS Vita)
* Level 22 (PS Vita)

These titles will be available to download from 1st August.

NEED FOR SPEED 2017: PAYING IT BACK

Team Ghost Games said :

We wanted to drift by and talk about a topic that we know you’re just as passionate about as we are…the next Need for Speed.

By now many of you will have heard the talk that a new game is in development here at Ghost Games. We’re happy to announce that by the end of 2017 you will be playing a new Need for Speed game.

We’ll have a lot more details to share as we get closer to EA PLAY in June. In the meantime, we can share a few details about various aspects of Need for Speed, what they mean to you, to us as developers, and to the franchise as a whole.

First up, we wanted to say thank you. When we launched the reboot back in 2015, we were blown away by the amount of feedback you gave us. It was clear how passionate you are for Need for Speed, which is a large part of why we’re here today.

Customization, we love it, you love it, everyone loves it. What’s not to love? Rest assured that we’re committed to customization having a home within the Need for Speed series. It’s not going away and it will play as strong a role as ever as we move forward into the next game and beyond.

Woop woop…let’s talk about cops. There’s nothing more satisfying than getting into a cop chase and feeling the heat on your tail as you tear it up through the city. Cops in pursuit, racers up ahead and then out of nowhere BAM! They bring a Rhino to a street race. You got this?

Whether you’re checking out your freshly customized ride or smoking the competition in an event up in the canyons, you’re going to want a world that not only looks beautiful, but offers you the space in which to do the things you want. We’re dialing up the action and allowing you to tear up the tarmac, and dirt, to your heart's content.

Burn rubber as you throw a car around a corner sideways and floor it as you hit an epic jump away from the cops. We’re building the world, but what you do in it is the aspect that excites us most.

Let’s finish on one of the biggest discussion points around the last game: always-online. To say that this is a topic you're passionate about would be an understatement, and whenever there’s a topic that gathers as much attention and feedback from you as this did, we take note.

So, when release day rolls around for the next Need for Speed, you will be able to play through a single player experience completely offline. Before you ask, and we know you will, this does mean you will be able to pause the game.

Need for Speed has an amazing history and at Ghost we feel very honored and privileged to be driving it forward. We’ll be speaking to you again very, very soon.

Here’s to a bright future, together.

- Ghost

PlayStation Plus - Your Monthly Games for April 2017

With only a few days left to cross off on March’s calendar, it’s time to pull back the curtain on what April has in store for PlayStation Plus.

Drawn to Death

Yes, earlier this month veteran game creator David Jaffe revealed the first of April’s PS Plus line-up when he confirmed the release date for his long-awaited arena shooter Drawn to Death.

A multiplayer-focused, online experience, Drawn to Death invites you to dive between the pages of a teenage tearaway’s high school text book and do bloody battle in a world constructed entirely of ballpoint doodles.

Brought to life with artistic panache and some truly bonkers character design, Drawn to Death is chaotic four-player fun with a huge emphasis on over-the-top weapons, dynamic environments and a fittingly adolescent attitude to violence – what better place to indulge your inner delinquent?

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

Second in our line-up for April is the brilliantly quirky co-operative space-shooter-cum-interstellar-explorer Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

Beam up a friend and blast off into the far reaches of a procedurally-generated universe where no two galaxies are alike and where teamwork is the only thing keeping your neon tub afloat.

While success might not demand the levels of intimacy implied by the title, you’ll definitely benefit from having someone you can trust on hand. Failing that, you can always boot up a friendly AI companion instead – to forage for new ship upgrades and abilities, explore distant galaxies and fend off attacks from technicoloured alien monstrosities.

In addition, PS4 users will also bag themselves some extra loot via the trans-dimensional technological wonder that is Cross-Buy: this month’s two charming PS Vita titles 10 Second Ninja X and Curses n’ Chaos can both be downloaded and played on PS4!

All of which leaves April’s full line up looking like this:

* Drawn to Death (PS4)

* 10 Second Ninja X (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)

* Curses ‘n Chaos (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)

* Alien Rage (PS3)

Xbox - April 2017 Games with Gold

After three months of some excellent offers through Games with Gold, featuring Layers of Fear, Evolve, and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, we’re keeping the proverbial train moving into April with four critically-acclaimed games — two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 games that can be played through Backward Compatibility — to add to your Xbox library.

Then on April 16, continue the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the zombie apocalypse, in The Walking Dead: Season Two, sequel to the Game of the Year winner. In this action-RPG of epic proportions, you must gain power, seek upgrades, and wield a legendary arsenal to clear your name.

Finally, Ezio Auditore returns for one last adventure in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Following in the footsteps of the original game’s hero, Altair, Ezio seeks to uncover the secrets of the master assassin. Explore Constantinople, Cappadocia, and Masyaf, bringing the Renaissance assassin through the lands of the original master.
